What Is the Star Wars Spirit Jersey Mystery Box Chaser?
In the collector world, a chaser is a rare variant intentionally seeded into a blind box series at a low pull rate. It’s the one you’re not supposed to get, which is exactly what makes it the one everybody wants.
Disney’s Spirit Jersey Mystery Box series includes six known designs inspired by Episodes I through VI, plus one secret seventh design that nobody outside of Disney has seen yet. You only find out what it looks like if you’re lucky enough to pull one. Disney hasn’t dropped any hints, and the packaging gives nothing away.
Each mystery box comes with a collector card too, though whether the chaser gets its own unique card is still something fans are waiting to find out.
What Are the Odds of Pulling the Chaser?
Disney has been upfront about this one. The official odds are 1 in 36.
So what does that actually mean for your wallet? If you buy a single box, you’re looking at roughly a 2.8% chance of pulling it. Even buying the full six-box set doesn’t guarantee anything. You could walk away with five standard designs and the chaser, or all six standard designs and nothing rare at all.
If you want a better-than-even shot statistically, you’d need to open around 25 boxes. At $99.99 each, that’s nearly $2,500. Worth knowing before you go too deep down the rabbit hole.
This is pretty standard for Disney blind box releases, and to their credit they do disclose the odds right on the product page. Just go in with realistic expectations.
What Does the Chaser Look Like?
Honestly, nobody knows yet. Disney has kept the design completely under wraps, which is part of the fun and part of the frustration depending on how you look at it.
What we do know is that the six standard designs all follow the same retro movie poster concept art format, one per film from Episode I through Episode VI. The chaser uses the same Spirit Jersey silhouette but with something different underneath. Collectors are speculating it could be tied to the original 1977 theatrical release, a character-driven design rather than a film poster, or something from the deeper corners of Star Wars concept art history.

How to Actually Get One
There’s no guaranteed path here. That’s the whole point of a chaser. But here are your realistic options depending on how patient and how spendy you’re willing to get.
Buy individual boxes and hope for it. At $99.99 a pop this is the most affordable entry point, and plenty of collectors are happy to buy a few and take their chances. If you pull a duplicate standard design, that’s not the worst thing in the world either since the known designs are genuinely solid.
Go for the six-box set. At $599.99 you get six boxes, which improves your odds slightly and fills out most of your collection at the same time. The chaser still isn’t guaranteed but at least you’re building toward something either way.
Watch the secondary market. Once chasers start showing up in the wild, expect them on eBay, Mercari and Facebook Marketplace pretty quickly. You’ll pay a premium but it’s the most reliable way to actually get the specific design you want. Disney Spirit Jersey chasers historically go for well above retail when they’re still in demand.
Trade with other collectors. Star Wars collector communities on Reddit and Facebook are active and usually pretty friendly around May the 4th. If you pull duplicates, someone out there probably has what you want and needs what you have.
Is It Worth Going After?
It depends on what kind of collector you are.
If you’re in it for the jersey itself and the vintage Star Wars artwork vibe, the six standard designs are great on their own and the chaser is just a fun long shot. Buy a box or two, enjoy the unboxing, and don’t stress about the odds.
If you’re a completionist or you live for the rare pull, this is exactly the kind of release that keeps things interesting. A 1 in 36 chaser is genuinely rare, not artificially inflated rare. That means if you do pull one, it’ll actually mean something on the secondary market if you ever decide to let it go.
Either way Disney is transparent about the 1 in 36 figure from the jump, so nobody can say they weren’t warned. That’s more than most blind box releases give you.
